Writers’ Conference

July 22-27, 2012

We were made in God’s image as creative beings. Whether you are a novice or a veteran writer, the beauty and peace of Lake Tahoe will inspire you in your artistic passion. Workshops, field trips and worship will be led by experienced leaders to enhance your skills and get your creative juices flowing! Participants will have opportunities to create alone and in groups together.

The Tahoe Center lakefront multi-purpose facility offers 43 guest rooms with private baths, dining and spacious meeting rooms, all in one complex. The Center is fully accessible to the disabled and provides central dining with delicious, well-balanced buffet-style meals.

Featured Presenter: Marilyn McEntyre

Marilyn has 30 years experience of teaching, the last twelve at Westmont College. Her books include three volumes of poetry; Christ, My Companion: Meditations on the Prayer of St. Patrick; and most recently, Caring for Words in a Culture of Lies. Her teaching of writing is grounded in the conviction that writing can be a spiritual discipline, can fuel prayer, and, at its best, can leave the writer as well as the reader “surprised by joy.”
