adopt-a-cabin

A sustainability initiative of Zephyr Point

Maintaining excellent facilities is a priority for Zephyr Point. For 100 years we have offered a unique environment on Lake Tahoe for campers, families, churches, and the community to gather and build strong relationships and memories that last a lifetime. Many of you refer to Zephyr Point as your “home away from home” and we want to make sure our cabins last for generations to come. We believe that the adoption of a cabin at Zephyr Point is one of the greatest gifts you can give to your family and friends!

Beginning January 1, 2024, Zephyr Point is offering an opportunity to leave a lasting impact and give back through our Adopt-A-Cabin project.

All requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis and are not guaranteed until confirmed with a signed agreement from Zephyr Point. Click the button below to fill out an online interest form or click here to download a PDF ADOPT-A-CABIN Interest form if preferred.

  • Open communication and project suggestions for cabin upgrades are encouraged. All cabin updates/remodels and projects are at the discretion of Zephyr Point’s leadership.
WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE?

Each cabin at Zephyr Point is unique and has unique needs. While some cabins just need basic maintenance and cosmetic upgrades other cabins need major remodels to ensure they survive to serve for many years to come. Each year our cabins serve approximately 25,000 guests. Below is a list of common projects that may need to be done:

  • Clear the ground surrounding the cabin and place proper coverage for drainage.  With consideration of Best Management Practices (BMPs) for lake clarity.
  • Perform brush control for fire protection/defensible space.
  • Repair or replace the roof
  • Replace flooring
  • Replace ceiling fans
  • Paint interior and exterior
  • Upgrade doors, windows, and screens
  • Upgrade bathrooms and kitchen
  • Upgrade insulation and the heating system
  • Upgrade mattresses and decor
  • And much more
