Volunteer

Zephyr Point was founded by people who have a passion to give of their time and talent. We are dependent on people to help in the following ways:

  • Provide clean-up and help with beautification projects (i.e. gardening and planting)
  • Assist with plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, and etc.
  • Volunteer remotely, help design promotional materials & content
  • Help with various office projects
  • Assist with Special Events and Fundraising.

We are blessed by our dedicated volunteers each year at Zephyr Point, ranging from individuals, families, youth groups, churches, college groups, and community groups.  If you have any questions please contact our Development department at development@zephyrpoint.org or call 775-588-6759 ext 107.

Zephyr Point holds 2 volunteer programs every year, in the spring and fall called “Sprucing Up in the Pines“.

Volunteer Opportunities

The main purpose of this volunteer opportunity is to provide general labor for Zephyr Point. Projects are scheduled in accordance with Zephyr Point priorities. All volunteer groups must provide the following:

  • Email the Development department to discuss your group’s request to volunteer
  • Have all members of the volunteer group complete and return a Volunteer Application 14 days prior to arrival date,  email it to development@zephyrpoint.org
  • Leaders need to fill out a Volunteer timesheet for the group when on-site
  • Volunteers may be eligible for a free meal, according to availability

Volunteer Groups that need housing may only book outside of peak season (contact the development department to discuss dates)

The main purpose of this volunteer opportunity is to provide general labor for Zephyr Point. Projects are scheduled in accordance with Zephyr Point priorities, mission, vision and values. All volunteer groups must provide the following:

  • Email the Development department to discuss your group’s request to volunteer and housing needs
  • Have all members of the volunteer group complete and return a Volunteer Application 14 days prior to arrival date, email it to development@zephyrpoint.org
  • Leaders need to fill out a Volunteer timesheet for the group when on-site
  • We provide free housing for the incoming night and 1 volunteer day = 1 night of free lodging (assigned by Zephyr Point according to availability)
  • Groups of 15 or more qualify for complimentary use of an appointed conference room when available (assigned by Zephyr Point according to availability)
  • If one of our kitchens is serving meals to other groups, meals may be an option to purchase at the standard rate with prior notice & should be stated on the contract

The main purpose of this role is to provide care for our Summer camp participants and staff. This is a seasonal volunteer opportunity. Only available during the weeks of our summer youth programs. Volunteers must be available for a full week at a time. Depending on availability multiple weeks may be accommodated.  Volunteers must meet the following requirements:

  • Have a current US Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, or Doctor License (Nevada State license not required)
  • Have Current First-aid & CPR training
  • Malpractice insurance (encouraged, not required).
  • Complete and return a Volunteer Application 30 days prior to arrival date.
  • Complete and pass the background check process.  Complete the form here.
  • Be available to volunteer Monday-Friday 8am – 4pm, but also to be on call for our Summer Staff, should a need arise after hours
  • Volunteers are required to agree to our COVID-19 policy.
  • We provide housing: depending on the week you will stay. Possible accommodations: 1 small cabin with rocks in the path to entry,  1 queen bed in loft & 1 full futon on the main floor or a hotel style room with 2 queen bed and a full private bath).
  • We provide 1 meal for you + 1 additional Adult meal (Dinner) Sunday-Friday during your week at no charge as well as a food stipend of $200/week for breakfast and lunch for volunteer only.

The main purpose of this role is to welcome guests and help direct traffic entering the property.

  • Volunteers needed from Memorial Day weekend thru Labor Day weekend each year
  • Shifts are scheduled in 2-4 hour increments
  • Complete a Volunteer Application and email it to development@zephyrpoint.org
  • A Volunteer nametag will be provided
  • Volunteers may be eligible for a free meal, according to availability
  • Training and ongoing support is provided
  • Volunteers are required to fill out a volunteer timesheet & turn it in at the end of each shift

The purpose of this role is to assist all departments in creating & editing marketing & social media content. Interns & students (18+yrs old) are welcome to apply for this volunteer opportunity, it is a great chance to build your portfolio and add to your resume/experience.
